How Accurate are low Pressure Electronic Regulators in Performance?

Control pressure regulator can be used in many ways at home and in the workplace. For example, pressure regulators are used to control the amount of propane in gas grills, the amount of natural gas in home heating furnaces, the amount of oxygen and anaesthesia gases in medical and dental equipment, the amount of compressed air in pneumatic automation systems, the amount of fuel in engines, and the amount of hydrogen in fuel cells.

What to consider while looking for electronic pressure valve

There are many things to think about when choosing a  low pressure electronic regulator. Important things to think about are the operating pressure ranges for the inlet and outlet, the flow requirements, the fluid (is it a gas, liquid, toxic, or flammable? ), the expected operating temperature range, the material choice for the regulator components, including the seals, and the size and weight limits.

With spring-loaded regulators, it can be hard to control very low pressures in the range of inches of water, pascals, and millibars. The main reason for this is that when the pressure is low, it’s hard to get valve parts to move. A low pressure electronic regulator is a very accurate way to keep these pressures in check. These electronic valves work by using a pressure transducer that is sensitive enough to pick up on small changes in pressure and solenoid valves to change how much gas goes in and out. We can make much smaller changes to the pressure with this method than we could with a regular regulator.

Method of Operation of  low pressure electronic regulator

The QPV electronic pressure regulator can take a signal with a voltage between 0 and 10V or a signal with a current between 4 and 20 mA. Depending on the signal it gets, the unit will control itself.  You can control the unit with your own programmable logic controller (PLC), a data acquisition device (DAQ) with software like National Instruments’ LabVIEW, or even just a potentiometer (variable resistor) found in electronic evaporator pressure regulator.

 Low pressure electronic regulator take the pressure at the supply (or inlet) and bring it down to the pressure at the outlet. Even if the pressure coming in changes, they try to keep the pressure coming out the same. Pressure regulators’ main job is to lower the pressure at the inlet and raise it at the outlet. With the help of a push valve and a vent valve, electronic fuel pressure regulator keep the outlet pressure at the set point. A small pressure sensor inside the pump checks the output pressure, and a digital or analogue controller changes the timing of the valves to keep the set point.

Accuracy & Repeatability

For pressures below 1 psig/68 millibar(g), the QPV1 will reach the desired pressure within 1% of the full-scale calibrated range. But the repeatability of 0.2% may be more useful. This means that when the same command is given, the unit will always be within the 1% range of pressure and also within 0.2% (of full scale) of the same pressure.
